Leave No Trace

Leave No Trace is a set of principles and practices that promote responsible outdoor recreation and wilderness use. It is an ethical framework that guides people in how to minimize their impact on the natural environment during their activities. The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics has identified seven principles of Leave No Trace: plan ahead and prepare, travel and camp on durable surfaces, dispose of waste properly, leave what you find, minimize campfire impact, respect wildlife, and be considerate of other visitors. The ultimate goal of Leave No Trace is to preserve the integrity and beauty of natural areas for future generations to enjoy.
